Today, some basic colors (couleurs):
blanc (the 'c' is silent) / blanche = white
noir / noire = black
rouge = red
jaune = yellow
vert / verte = green
violet / violette = purple
rose = pink
orange = orange
marron = brown
bleu / bleue = blue
